Candy Cane Puffs

2-1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 t. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1/2 t. peppermint extract
1 t. vanilla extract
8-oz. pkg. white chocolate chips
1/2 c. peppermint candies, finely crushed

Combine flour and salt; set aside. Cream butter and sugar; beat in egg and extracts. Mix into flour mixture using low speed. Wrap dough in plastic wrap; refrigerate for one hour. Shape dough into walnut-size balls; place on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes; cool. Melt white chocolate in a double boiler; dip cooled cookies into melted chocolate. Roll in crushed peppermint candy; set on wax paper until hardened. Makes about 4 dozen
