The journals of Charles Armstrong offer the reader a rare glimpse of never-before-revealed details of an ordinary man in an extraordinary place. Armstrong journeyed to Aspen where he built a cabin, searched for valuable minerals, worked as a surveyor, fished, trapped, enjoyed an active social life for a prospector, raised his own vegetables, and much more - all of which leaps at the reader from the pages of his journals.

Christian J. Buys, a psychologist, prefaces each section of Armstrong's diary with a personality profile, giving the reader an intimate understanding of these remarkable journals.
