The USS Liberty was attacked by unmarked planes and torpedo boats in international waters during the Six Day War between Israel and the Arab States. The attack on the surveillance ship lasted 75 minutes -- 34 men died and 172 were injured. Peter Hounam was the Chief Investigative Journalist for The Sunday Times of London from 1986-1994. . In 1996, he won the prestigious 'Scoop of the Year' award for obtaining the British Budget prior to its delivery - this is the first time this has ever been acheieved. He is the author of five books. He has made a number of documentaries, including a major dramatised documentary on Operation Cyanide for the BBC.
