About the Author:
Betty Hanawa had two highly rated, lovely, sensual contemporaries published with Triskelion Publishing when her publisher and her editor kicked her out of her comfort zone. To her surprise, she discovered they were right. She now writes paranormal erotic romances, filled with snarky humor that frequently slips into the ironic. Her books are receiving high praise with new books being eagerly anticipated. Her aunts are delighted with her success. Her children are embarrassed to discover their mother knows about sex. She really enjoys being the scandal of her small town. About the time of one of those milestone birthdays, Layla sought a different outlet for her creative energy. Sewing, quilting and cross-stitch were fun and produced decorative items but she wanted to explore the people and scenarios who kept popping into her head. One of her favorite activities was creating vignettes for people she saw while waiting in airports, restaurants or at the mall. An avid reader all her life, she thought she'd tackle writing romantic fiction. The idea of creating characters with foibles, strengths and weaknesses and then challenging them to work through problems was irresistible.Layla learned about the craft of writing through her participation in several Romance Writers of America chapters - specifically, the Orange County Chapter for great workshops; the Inland Valley Chapter for learning how to critique; and the San Antonio Romance Authors for camaraderie and support. In this chapter in the fall of 2000, she met two writing soul sisters and they formed a critique group which challenged the writing skills of all three to new heights.Shortly thereafter, Layla's manuscripts started finaling in contests and one short story was included in the debut anthology of a new publisher. Five of her manuscripts and two sexy novellas have finaled in RWA contests and she is multi-published in romantic short fiction. In the summer of 2005 came the call (actually an email) that her sexy historical manuscript, Stagecoach Capture, was being contracted by Amber Quill Press. Hopefully to be the first of many.A native northern Californian, Layla has relocated to Oregon, southern California and Texas following her husband's career adventures. Along the way, they raised three children to adulthood and continue to guide a teenager on her path.
