Synopsis

This volume is intended to be of use to everyone who studies the Bible. This book should be owned by every Bible student who wishes an enriched understanding of Scripture. Those who are familiar with Hebrew will be able to discover the exact shade of meaning hidden in each Hebrew expression by comparing it with its literal English equivalent. Those who study the Old Testament only in English will obtain new understanding from a careful study of the translation given in this volume. The Authorized Version is printed in the left-hand margin and the Revised Version appears in the right. The work aims at a literal translation of the Hebrew, and at no time attempts to substitute mere smoothness for literalness. The valuable textual notes will aid the student in determining the true text. Here is a volume which will not only be a boon to clergymen, but will enable all who study the Bible to enjoy the inspiration and knowledge which result from a study of Scripture in the original.
