About the Author:
Angie Tang is currently the course co-ordinator and lecturer at the School of Business, Singapore Polytechnic and a highly sought-after seminar speaker, trainer and consultant. She has extensive experience in both the retailing and marketing disciplines with strong operational, team-building and decision-making capabilities.

In addition, she is a regular speaker for retail talks organised by various shopping centres. She was an adjunct lecturer with the Singapore Retailers Association as well as a lead consultant cum trainer at the Retail Promotion Centre. Angie is also a well-recognised trainer in the regional retail scene.

Angie is the co-author of a book entitled Retail Operations Handbook – A Practical Guide for Small Retail Businesses. In 2002, she received the Singapore Polytechnic’s ‘Innovation and Creativity Award’ in recognition of her effort in this publication. Angie is frequently interviewed by The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, MediaCorp and other local magazines on many retail issues.

Angie graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1987. She obtained her Master of Business Administration in Retailing and Wholesaling (with Distinction) from the University of Stirling in 2000.

Sarah Lim is a lecturer with the School of Business, Singapore Polytechnic. She is also the co-ordinator for the Retail Laboratory, the Retail Place, which she helped set up in 1994 to facilitate hands-on training for the students doing the retail course. In addition, she is a key player in the planning and co-ordinating of various marketing activities for the School.

Sarah is an appointed assessor of the integrated Gold Circle Award and Casetrust Award, and has been involved in the assessment of some major retail and travel organisations. She is also an adjunct lecturer with the Institute of Retailing at the Singapore Retailers Association.

Currently, she is involved in assisting the small to medium-sized retailers to upgrade their operational processes and procedures through customised workshops and the development of operational manuals. She has offered on-site evaluations for the small retailers to help them in their upgrading efforts. She is a regular speaker for seminars and talks organised by the shopping centres, retail and marketing organisations, both locally and in the region.

She has co-written a retail handbook with Angie Tang, entitled Retail Operations Handbook – A Practical Guide for Small Retail Businesses. Sarah graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985 and obtained a Diploma in Education from the Institute of Education in 1986. She also received her Diploma in Management from Henley Management College, United Kingdom, in 2003.
