Cincinnati: John Church & Co.; Chicago: Root & Sons Music Co. 191, [1] p.: music; 16 x 25 cm. Dark reddish brown cloth spine with orange paper over boards printed in black. Cover title printed within decorative border; publisher's advertisements on back cover. Pencilled notations on endpapers, including "Hiram L. Miller's Book September 10, 1878"; "Sampson Berk, teacher & son John"; "Choice {H.L. Miller, H.M. Berkly, M.C. Berkly} Choice"; and "Harvey and Mahlon Berkley". Contains sacred and secular songs in four parts, some with piano accompaniment. Lower corner of back cover lacking, with slight loss of printing; otherwise in Very Good- Condition: covers are soiled and rubbed; ends of spine fraying; section of back free endpaper lacking; a few pencilled notations; pages are otherwise clean and tight. A very scarce songbook by popular American gospel composer James McGranahan.
