A re-discovered classic, this gem for String Orchestra was written by Howard Hanson (1896-1981) for the American String Teachers Association and first performed in 1976 at the Music Educators National Conference. Using two tunes from the Scandinavian tradition he was born into, Hanson created a masterful study in textures and rhythms that deserves to be seen as the modern classic that it is. Challenging and rewarding, this is a major addition to the repertoire. 4' - Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Contrabass - Carl Fischer - 798408027797 - 825827795 - 1/1/1996 - 14 Pages.
