Willy Scholte (Wilhemina Scholte), By By By, published by the artist, Amsterdam, 1978. 105 x 148 mm. Artist's card hand stamped by artist, featuring a central tulip stamp printed in a gradation of red, purple and blue, surrounded by wasps printed in black. Signed, titled and dated by the artist on recto. Willy Scholte was one of very few women working at the Stempelplaats factory in the late 1970s an's the early 1980s. As a keen autodidact, she became involved in the avant-garde activities at Stempelplaats and drew inspiration from the likes of Ulises Carrion and Aart van Barneveld. This is the work of a talented mail artist who is ripe for rediscovery. Condition: Fine.
