252pp. 23cm. 8vo. Hardcover. Full calf blindstamped to upper cover with image of sailing ship on a frothy sea. Book Condition: joints showing cracking for 2" of upper cover, lower cover 3/4"; wear to extremities with boards showing at corners; rear hinge cracked, silk endpaper detached; ink stain to outer edge of several pages. Binding very sound, pages free of foxing, unmarked and unmarred. Individual photos tipped in for each of the 44 young ladies of the class of 1926, with faculty photos tipped in also, and group photos for a assortment of teams and clubs, including: minstrel show (no blackface, despite the name), May Day, Ivy Planting, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Hockey, and 3 others. A few hand recorded milestones on the Marriage page. As stated the 1926 Ogontz School Yearbook was published in a numbered edition of 44 copies of which this is number 44, made for Hilda Weisenfluh from Scranton, Pennsylvania. A lavish production but also one that shows a great deal of thoughtful attention to detail seeking just the right tone. Ltd Edition of 44, of which this is no. 44.
