First edition, stated, of Slim Aarons’s first book of photographs, published in 1974 by Harper & Row. “Attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places,” in the artist’s formulation. Aaron’s nostalgic portraits of the American elite at play in the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s has served to inspire several generations of fashion and interior designers, creative directors and stylists. Folio (10.5” x 13.5”), hardcover with photographic dust jacket, approximately 250 pages with color and b/w illustrations throughout. Inscribed on FFE “For David/Thank you/Slim Aarons/My First Book.” The previous owner was a graphic designer and photography collector. Slight lean to spine. Light bumping and rubbing to dj. Minimal de-lamination to front cover.
