A beautifully illustrated Disney-themed alphabet pop-up book, with a handwritten and signed card from the author Robert Sabuda. The first edition of this work, with the full number line, in the publisher's original laminated pictorial boards. Loosely inserted is an advertisement for the book, an invitation to an online auction for Robert Sabuda's artwork, and a handwritten and signed card from the author addressed to Michael and Megan Dawson, whose small bookplate is affixed to the front paste down. Robert Sabuda is a well-known paper engineer and illustrator. His mastery of pop-up art is highly esteemed in the book art world. A delightful and colourful guide to the alphabet made from hand-painted, hand-cut paper. Behind each paper door is a pop-up Disney character representing each letter of the alphabet, such as Cinderella for the letter 'C' and the Genie for the letter 'G'. The monstrous Ursula applies lipstick in a mirror, and the playful kitten Oliver jumps out from a box. All pop-ups show Sabuda's charming illustrations in full colour. In the publisher's original laminated pictorial boards. Externally, very bright and smart. Internally, firmly bound. Pop-ups are in excellent working condition, and are bright and clean.
