AMERICAN SOLDIER PROUD AND FREE

For Those Who Love America! As Americans we live in the greatest country in the world and although we live in the land of opportunity, our freedoms are not free. Our American soldiers deserve an immense amount of credit for preserving those freedoms to which we have become accustomed to.

Kimberly Jo Simac feels passionate that everyone including our children, know that as Americans we need to appreciate all the rights we have and pay tribute to our soldiers who, throughout the years, have defended those rights. Artist Donna Goeddaeus masterfully creates a representation of the innocence of childhood and images depicting the symbols of patriotism such as the American flag and the pledge of allegiance.

American Soldier Proud and Free relays the value, importance, and pride the military plays to our country and culture. This book is devoted to the countless men and women who have proudly and selflessly served in our military in order to protect and preserve all we hold dear. This is the third book in Simac's "You Can Be A Star Series". Look for "When I Grow Up I'm Going to be a Hockey Star" and "Girls Play Hockey Too!"

Kimberly Jo Simac, along with husband Butch, has raised nine children in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. Kim and Butch consider themselves very lucky to have raised their children in this great state and magnificent country.

Believing that America is the greatest country in the world, Kim says, "With the many blessings and grace that God has shed on this land, come great responsibilities. We have to respect our nation and guard our freedoms." Kim has written American Soldier Proud and Free to show our children that we should appreciate what we have and not take anything for granted.

When not writing children's books, Kim and Butch raise warm blood sport horses at their Eagle River training facility, where Kim coaches future equestrian stars. Kim hopes her children's books will encourage youth to dream big and be proud of who they are.

"I believe in working hard, caring for others and having fun doing it. These simple philosophies have carried me so far to date."
