"Although Ostrander entered the Army in 1864, when he was 15 years old, most of the book is devoted to Army life in the far west."--Graff 3135. An interesting first-hand account. Very good. Signed presentation from Ostrander to Martin S. Garretson thanking him for his help in writing the book. This copy from Garretson's library with his bookplate laid-in.
