Inscribed by Haycraft on title page: "For Tom & Dorothy Stix, This new-old book from an old-old friend with every good wish, Howard Haycraft / Feb. 26, 1984." Though no additional provenance markings, this copy subsequently from the library of noted Sherlockian, BSI member since 1973, and retired US magistrate judge Andrew Peck.
