A total of sixty-four drawings reproduced in two-colors, capturing the spirit of life on the rivers, plains, and hills of the United States. Prospectus for the book is laid-in at front. 276pp. This is by far the finest copy we have ever had in our inventory. Thomas Hart Benton (1889-1975) was a native Missourian, a painter, muralist, and printmaker. Along with Grant Wood and John Steuart Curry, he was a pioneer in the Regionalist art movement. In later years, he lived in Kansas City, taught at the Kansas City Art Institute. Size: Royal Octavo.
