Item description from seller

Signed First Edition, 1964. Hardcover with dust jacket. Signed by author Harry Helson on the front endpaper. Association copy: previously owned by psychophysics and perception researcher Donald L. Corson, with his ownership signature also on the front endpaper. Direct Research Connection: In 1968, Harry Helson published a follow-up paper on anchor effects with Aiko Kozaki in the journal Psychophysics. In the acknowledgments, Helson notes that a foundational study conducted by Donald L. Corson at Kansas State University provided the vital information and parameters used to replicate and confirm his theories on visual stimuli and adaptation levels. I have attached images of the paper acknowledging Corson. To verify Harry Helson’s signature I found a thesis he had signed as a faculty member at Kansas State University in 1963 which I have attached as an image. As for condition - it does contain some underlined text and obviously notes and changes to equations. Contains Don Corson’s name stamp on 3 pages and the top edge. The dust jacket is wrapped and protected (not glued). There appear to be a few pages that were paper clipped together (Table 5.1) where clip left a mark. See images. I attached as many as I could. Such a cool random discovery. Found at New Albany, Indiana auction. Corson home.

Store description

I’ve loved books since before I could read. You could say I have a slight problem and have bought too many over the years, although in my opinion there is no such thing as too many books! Er, until one runs out of shelf space. That is my current predicament. My house is small and my collection is large. I’m hoping to find these old friends new readers who will love and appreciate them as much as I have enjoyed them. I also look for unique and out of print books that I feel may find a spot on a shelf in another home. I am an individual seller and just enjoy sharing my love of books.
