Franklin's as-always lavish binding of Snow's classic 1959 tale of the reinstatement trial of an academic scientist who had been dismissed for scientific fraud - and, on a larger level, of the gulf of misunderstanding between scientists and other intellectuals, which pervades most of his novels. Howard Rogers' moody illustrations extend that brooding concern. The Franklin Library, doing what they did best. Handsomely preserved. Please review scans.
