North Carolina. Published by the Author. 1960. First Edition. Hard Cover. Crown octavo 8vo. 7�" by 5" (190�mm x 126�mm) approx. 108. Dark burgundy textured boards with dark gilt titles and vignette to the upper board and to the spine. Sharp corners and hardly any spine wear. Front free endpaper shows map in blue and white tracing the route the author took across Africa. Warm inscription from the author in a looping cursive to friends. Black and white frontispiece of the author. Charming line drawings as chapter headpieces as well as many black and white plates taken by the author's wife on the trip. In near fine condition. The boards will be protected with a new inert archival 100 micron sleeve which is removable. Please contact us if you would like any more information or additional images.
