FIRST EDITION in red cloth with pasted on illustration of Old Fort Reno in 1866, black titling, foreword by Clarence B. Bagley, illustrations, 120pp. Good+ with light soiling, sunned spine, and wear at extremities. A follow-up to Ostrander's "A Story of the Plains." The year after this book was published, Ostrander served as a special correspondent for "Winners of the West" at the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn, writing/editing a pamphlet on the event "The Custer Semi-Centennial Commemoration, 1876 - June 25 - 26 - 1926" (O'Keefe #1908).
