Hardcover catalog of an exhibition of Alex Katz collages held at the Colby College Museum of Art from June 26-September 28, 2005. Text by guest curator David Cohen. The layout of what proclaims be be a catalogue raisonne of Katz s collages features an image on the right hand page with curatorial information and a short review essay on the left hand page. Hardcover, 180 pages, no dj as issued, color illustrations. Inscribed on the half-title page by Katz to Robert and Mari Cornell, lenders to the exhibit. Robert Cornell (1931-2017) was a pianist who worked as an assistant to Lincoln Kirstein and Betty Page at City Ballet; he and his wife were long-time friends of the music critic Edwin Denby and so were in a social circle that included Katz. Light bumping and rubbing to extremities. Mild foxing to front board and top edge.
