1935 FIRST EDITION. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by David Irwin on the frontispiece photo. Original green cloth, black image of mushing on front, black lettering front, gilt lettering spine. The book has very faint 2cm spot rear cover, fading and light marks on spine, author's signed inscription on the frontispiece and gift inscription (in another hand) on the blank recto of the frontispiece otherwise no writing or marks on any pages, no foxing, solid binding, complete with all pages and plates. The book measures 220mm tall x 145mm, and has 254 pages, 17 b/w photos, EP map. Account of Irwin's 3,600-mile dog-sledge trip from Nome Alaska to Churchill on Hudson Bay. Initially he joined another to help him wrangle a giant herd of reindeer to feed starving Eskimos, but shortly departed on his own, due to hostilities, for the solo trip to Churchill.
