His itinerary included sub-Arctic Canada, the Ecuadorian rainforest, sub-tropical St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands-and New York City. While his colorful abstract landscapes are at the forefront here, also included are Glier's detailed blog entries and photographs. The result: a story of discovery and intense observation, recounted with enthusiasm and the technical mastery of plein air painting in the tradition of Audubon.

About the Author

Mike Glier is a painter living and working in Hoosick Falls, New York. He is currently the chair of the Williams College Department of Art,Williamstown, Massachusetts. Carol Diehl is an artist, writer, contributing editor to Art in America, and former slam poet (Nuyorican Poets Cafe) who blogs about art. Lisa Corrin is the director of the Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA). She previously held the posts of chief curator at The Contemporary Museum (Baltimore), chief curator at the Serpentine Gallery (London), and deputy director of art at the Seattle Art Museum.
