Octavo (22cm); black cloth, covered boards with titling stamped in gilt on spine label; 287pp. Inscribed by author on front flyleaf: "To Dr. Harry S. Cutter with best wishes Ira N Morris Chicago 1931". Previous bookplate remnants to front pastedown with faint shelf-wear, foxing to edges of textblock, and occasional finger-soil to interior; Good. First printing released in 1923. Morris was appointed the United States Minister to Sweden (1914 - 1923); his father was an executive and founder of Morris & Company, part of Chicago's meat-industry that Morris worked for earlier.
