About this Item
First edition, first printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 22.5 × 14cm, 265pp. Signed, dated and dedicated directly to the title page by Francis King. Dedicated with "Every good wish to Mort and Dick", Mort in this instance is Professor Morton Cohen, the pre-eminent Lewis Carroll scholar. Peopled with eccentric, extravagant and touching characters, this is a novel about two young English people whose year in Florence is a lesson in much more than the Italian language. Condition: This copy is in good solid condition but lightly tanned to the page edges and margins, and with some crinkling to the dustwrapper's top edge and a small closed tear by the top corner of the front panel. Payment is through Abebook's payment system, or we can accept Paypal or bank transfer. Please contact us for more information.
A note on our shipping: due to the ever increasing cost of sending books abroad (recent price changes for Royal Mail have reduced the costs to the US but Australia and Asia are rising), we have had to raise our prices in line with the increases.
We post at cost and if the book is cheaper to post than the default price shown by abebooks, we will reduce this cost when processing the sale. Alternatively, you can check the correct price at www.coxandbudge.co.uk before ordering where it is costed by weight.
