Ariane

Germany at the end of World War II. A story that combines romance and action, written with a provocative suspense that unfolds at the end. She is the focal point of a man's dream, a man who has spent his past being faithful to one woman. Then, in the forefront of dealing with perilous events that are taking place around him, Major Max Gordon is caught in a struggle to choose between two women, both of whom he loves.

The author was in Germany from October 1944 to December 1945. For six months after the war he was an investigator with a U.S. Army team located in a city near Frankfurt. In Ariane he combines personal experiences with comparable occurrences, creating a blend of fiction and credibility. McGuire concentrates on realism. The lengthy time spent in Germany gave him an invaluable background to use for descriptions of people, both during the period immediately after the war, and as they were in the preceding years under the rule of Hitler. McGuire resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife.
