Mackay, 1913; no additional printings indicated; pp.[10, including frontis photo of author], 11-295, [296], [1, colophon]. Binding is tight, sturdy, and square; text also very good; light edgewear to buckram boards, with some faint damp-staining apparent around edges of front and rear boards that does not affect the page block; gilt title on spine remains bright and bold. In 1916, the New York theater world would pay tribute to him as the "Dean of Actors", a title he still held at his death in 1923. A facsimile of a letter from the famous actor and founder of The Players, Edwin Booth, is included in the text of this book, and Booth is mentioned in the author's inscription.
