The Art of Art examines the many disciplines of art in poetic form. It addresses the mystery of why art is what it is from the perspectives of both artists and observers. The segments of Art of Art may be read at any art event, whether it is visual, performance or literary, or to inspire a course of instruction, or in those other reflective private moments when the spirit is touched by art.

About the Author

Dan Matson is a painter and poet whose art reflects unique techniques in both forms. His gallery shows include large constructs as well as wall hangings, to bring viewers into the art. Similarly, his poetic statements about art immerse the mind in a flow of thought that transcends its usual boundaries.

The author resides in Mid-Michigan and has observed art on several continents. He became intensely involved in the visual arts while exploring the Island of Tasmania where he spent a year�s sabbatical from his law practice. Both professions continue, each of them sustaining the other artfully.
