Burgundy cloth with gold lettering to front. No jacket as issued. 12mo. [xi prelims] 31 pages. Frontispiece and 2 plates; 1 further b&w illustration within the text. A brief essay aiming to discover, "by examination of Arthur Rackham's personality and by study of his art, the reason for his overwhelming popularity almost a century after his birth". Appears to have formed part of a project for the Department of Design at Oxford Polytechnic. A presentation copy inscribed by the author to a "Miss Unger / With very best wishes / from / Julia" on the front free endpaper. Good. Some rubbing to the spine folds and the corners of the boards; front has an obvious scuffed patch in its top left-hand corner, near the spine. Text tanned and a bit dull at the edges, with a little foxing.
