A very well written and illuminating tale of what proved to be eight years of totally unnecessary nonsense on the part of BR and also the government. One wonders that with talk of privatisation in the air, that the incompetent handling of this closure by BR didn't focus some minds on their incapability of running our railways. The book reads like an adventure story, in fact the reader is drawn in to the action and rolls with the punches and feels elated with the victories. The book contains a section of black&white pictures plus a useful index and reprints of documents relevant to the case. Ref NNN 5.…
