Edition de Luxe no 163/500 signed by the publisher. Contains, as a frontispiece, a fine etching from its original plate showing a sleeping shepherd and his flock on a summer's day. This is not apparently in the trade edition. 73 coloured illus, 20 b&w and numerous smaller sketches in the text. Small private bookplate. Another owner's small stamp twice on the endpapers. The etching and front free endpaper are loose, as are some other plates. Several sections are cracked; signs of sellotape on the free endpapers. Green silk ribbon. White cloth decorated in colours, rather soiled. Ow sound shelf-worthy enough.
