Signed presentation from O'Sheel (also signing his real name "Jim Shrelds") on the verso of the front endpaper: "To Nellie West, with the good wishes of the author to all the kindly West family. Shaemus O'Sheel (Jim Shields)." Shaemas O'Sheel (1886-1954) was an Irish-American poet and critic. Born James Shields, he changed his name to an anglicized spelling of its Irish version soon after high school. Louis Untermeyer characterized O'Sheel's poetry as possessing "mysticism and a muffled heroism." An uncommon book!. Seller Inventory # 56766
