Richard North Patterson is an American fiction writer, trial lawyer and political commentator. He has won many awards for his work, including an Edgar Allen Poe Award and the Grand Prix de Litterature Policiere. He has held many positions within the political world in America, and now serves on Washington-based boards which deal with gun violence and political reform.
