Bound in printed boards with same design as jacket, clean and unmarked. Full-page images by Derrick Greaves including one fold-out. The book is based on Mabey's book 'Whistling in the Dark' (1993). This book won first prize in the Nature and Place category of the 2010 EDP/Jarrolds East Anglian Book Award. The Nightingale is a migratory bird found in southern England in dense scrub of Hawthorn, Blackthorn and bramble.
