About this Item
First edition. Small chips and tears at the edges of the yapped wrappers, age-toning at the edges, a short tear on the title page, about near fine, housed in a cloth chemise and red quarter morocco slipcase. The author's first separately published work, a play. Inscribed by Williams to his close friend Paul Bigelow: "To my dear friend Paul with very best wishes, Tennessee Williams." Bigelow assisted in the Broadway production of Williams' *Rose Tattoo* in 1951, and also edited several of Williams' works, including the novel *The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone,* for New Directions. Bigelow, or, "the legendary Paul Bigelow" as he is called in Williams' *Memoirs*, was one of Williams's first openly gay friends. Seller Inventory # 321103
