First edition, first impression. SIGNED, DATED AND INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR, IN BLACK PEN, ON FFEP AND TITLE PAGE 'on ffep: For Brian, with all good wishes from Dianne 1987, and wishing you all success with your first novel', and at bottom of page above a coffee stain 'Sorry!' with a downwards arrow point at stain. On title page: 'Dianne Doubtfire' with printed name crossed out. I would surmise that Dianne spilt some coffee on book while signing it, some eighteen years after it was first published. Some slight edge wear to top and bottom of largely white jacket and spine, some yellowing to white parts of jacket, spine slightly faded, some spotting and coffee staining to page fore edges, price clipped, no other inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg+ copy for its age. 248pp. Novel following the dramatic relationship between an art student and a beautiful but tormented model. I have been able to find out very little about Dianne Doubtfire (b.1918- c.1990), although she was a reasonably prolific novelist and author of self help book for other novelists. Scarce signed.
