First issue, first state of the first impression with withdrawn dustwrapper. Signed by Christopher Brookmyre to the title page. First state with white endpapers and the withdrawn dustwrapper, wrapper rather rubbed and edge-worn. Publication date was scheduled for the week of 9/11, consequently the dustwrappers with the 'Terrorism' strapline were hastily withdrawn and replaced. The first issue had white endpapers, the second state was issued with blue endpapers, both were issued with the later withdrawn dustwrapper. Rare.
