The Lost Booker Prize: In 2010 a special award was organised for books published in 1970 as they had not been eligible for the Booker Prize (until 1970 the prize was awarded to books published in the previous year, while from 1971 onwards it was awarded to books published the same year as the award). Judges selected a shortlist and J. G. Farrell won the overall prize for Troubles following a public vote. The Lost Booker represents a huge challenge for collectors. The books are nearly impossible to find signed (as they were not promoted under the Booker Prize banner 40 years earlier!), and the winner is very scarce even unsigned.
