Bound in gilt lettered black cloth, housed and protected in original unclipped colour pictorial dustwrapper very gently rubbed to head of spine. David Nobbs created cult TV series The Fall and Rise of Reginal Perrin, starring Leonard Rossiter. A Bit of a Do and its sequel Fair Dos were also televised during the 1970s and 1980s, starring David Jason of Only Fools and Horses and David Thewllis latterly of Harry Potter films. We also have for sale a second copy of A Bit of a Do, signed and dedicated to fellow author and convicted criminal Alik Rowe, with Rowe?s personal bookplate and ink-stamped address. Further, we are selling the sequel Fair Dos, again the personal copy of author Alik Rowe with his personal bookplate and signature.

About the Author

David Nobbs’s first break as a comedy writer came on the iconic satire show That Was The Week, That Was, hosted by David Frost. Later he wrote for The Frost Report and The Two Ronnies and provided material for many top comedians including Les Dawson, Ken Dodd, Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howerd and Dick Emery. Apart from his twenty novels, David is best known for his two TV hit series A Bit of a Do and for The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin. David Nobbs died in 2015 at the age of eighty.
