First edition hardcover in blue cloth covered boards showing bumped spine ends and rubbing on lower tips. Navy/white illustrated endpapers, Author's presentation with large inscription to Wayne Jefferson on verso fep. No other writing, no names or tears, and only light occasional finger soil in the line illustrated 186pp text. Un-clipped original dust jacket shows a few repairs, it is 97% complete showing some age-toning and color loss from handling. Wrap around color art on jacket. Story of Cadet Bruce Brownley's fight for success at Culver Military Academy and the beautiful black horse, Storm Cloud. It is also a true picture of Culver - its famous Black Horse Troop and expert Lancers, its hunts, parades, sports and dormitory pranks.
