Add to basketThe book is quite shaky, someone has put tape on the spine, 72 pages. The value of this book is in that it is signed by the author R. W. Symonds to his friend Charles Hobson who has also signed the book and added interesting information on the paste down which reads ?In 1945 Mr Symonds came to Beauchamp Place to see me about early movements, we became great friends, and I spent hundreds of hours with him at his flat, on this small book and on his ?The life and work of Thomas Tompion? When this book was published I was leg pulled on the cover. This was drawn by a young lady, I did not see it until publication. Charles Hobson?
Mr Hobson was an esteemed clockmaker and wrote the book ?Hobsons Choice?.
On the ffep is the following ?Charles A Hobson, Hon Freeman Clockmakers Company 1967. Freeman City of London. To Charles Hobson from R. W. Symonds, thanks Nov:1947.
