Warm inscription to "Tommy's" uncle, Roger Paine and Bonnie, dated Christmas, 1950 in Santa Barbara. Tompkins was a native of Washington state, being born in Prosser. After serving in WWII, he settled in Santa Barbara where he continued to write western fiction and also local history. 8vo, 254pp. Signed and inscribed by Tompkins to his uncle on the ffep and dated prior to publication in 1950 in Santa Barbara. Orange buckram, spine lettered in green, illustrated jacket by Charles Hargens. Some rubbing to boards, light chipping and rubbing to jacket. Very good.
