62 pages. Meyerstein was an English writer and scholar who wrote poems and short stories and the Life of Thomas Chatterton. Martin Secker was a London publisher. In 1935 Secker's original publishing house merged to form the publishing house Secker and Warburg. In 1937 Richards Press was purchased by Secker. Inscribed by the author on front free endpaper: 'Martin Secker from E. H. W. Meyerstein. Christmas, 1942.' With holograph postcard addressed to the Richards Press: 'New Odes. Please send the 180 copies to me here, as soon as it is convenient. I am well pleased by the appearance of the book. Thank you, E. H. W. Meyerstein.'. First edition (first printing). Near fine copy in black cloth covers with paper label on spine. Label is mildly soiled and there is a small edge chip. Bookplate of former owner, Albert Sperisen, librarian of the Book Club of California from 1950 to his death in 1999. Seller Inventory # 264328
