First edition. Small 8vo. viii + 107pp.+ envelope containing folded map tipped onto rear pastedown. Red cloth, silver spine titles. Signed by both authors and inscribed to a "fellow bridgebuilder" on the front free end paper. Fine in a very good (+) jacket with several very short closed tears and minor wear at spine ends. An economic historian and an engineer "reconstruct the problem-solving process involved in the building of the Britannia Bridge over the Menai Straits in northwest Wales." Number 10 in a series of monographs in the history of technology and culture published jointly by the Society for the History of Technology and The MIT Press.

All books ship free with tracking to domestic addresses via USPS Media Mail. In most cases, delivery takes place within a three to ten day window, although the vicissitudes of USPS may apply. Unless otherwise requested, expedited domestic purchases ship via USPS Priority Mail; overseas orders via USPS First Class International. Heavy or oversized books may incur additional shipping charges, as may books shipped to overseas destinations. Any additional charges required will be communicated promptly.
We take safe shipping very seriously; all of our books are packaged in new cardboard boxes amply cushioned with biodegradable packing peanuts. Pamphlets and other flat materials items are ocassionally shipped in bubble-mailers with internal cardboard supports.
