Add to basketInscribed First Edition, First Printing of this account of the events surrounding the Munich Crisis of 1938 by one of the highest profile journalists of the era, radio broadcaster H.V. Kaltenborn. High tension negotiations between Germany's Adolph Hitler and European allies led by Britain's Neville Chamberlain resulted a purported peace agreement in which the aggressively posturing Hitler was presumably appeased when the allies agreed to lop off a critical piece of Czechoslovakia and sacrifice it to the tender mercies of the Nazi regime. "We were saved from war, I am convinced, by the mobilization of world opinion for peace" writes Kaltenborn. Hitler soon gobbled up the rest of Czechoslovakia and full scale war erupted in the early autumn of 1939. Inscribed by H.V. Kaltenborn to previous owners on the front endpaper. Cloth, 360 pages. No dust jacket. Has some tanning of the page edges.
