London 22/8/30'.In the very scarce publisher's original glassine.Initially appearing in the Madras Mail between 1924 and 1925, this is the first edition in book form of this charming work.With twenty-four full page illustrations, and further vignettes, this is a delightful work in which the author presents twenty-four vignettes depicting life in Burma in the early twentieth century. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. In the original glassine. Boards bright, with bumping to back strip head and tail and rubbing to centre of spine. Glassine taped to front and rear pastedowns. Lacking the majority of the glassine back strip, with small loss to tail of front wrap. Significant loss and two large tears to tail of front board.
