A steer recounts his experiences being part of the cattle trail life in Texas.
Preston Lewis grew up in West Texas enjoying the rich history of Texas and the stories of J. Frank Dobie. He loved books so much that he decided to try writing some on the topic he loved best, Texas history. To date he has published twenty-three fiction and non-fiction books. They Call Me Old Blue is his first book for young readers.
Lewis is past president of Western Writers of America, which has honored him twice with Spur Awards, for best Western novel and for best article. He holds a bachelor's degree from Baylor University, and a master's degree from Ohio State University. He and his wife, Harriett, live in San Angelo, where he a staff member of Angelo State University
