Item description from seller

Macmillan, New York. 1940. 473 pages. First edition, sixth printing. Ornately signed by author and economist, Carl Snyder, directly to the flyleaf, without inscription. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Pages and endpapers are bright and clean. Some shadowing on endpapers from DJ flap. Red cloth panels are bright and clean. Book shows light wear at corner tips with otherwise fine. Original dust jacket is present, with $3.75 price intact on flap. Attractive DJ shows shallow chipping along edges with minor soiling. Considered Snyder's magnum opus, this book is widely recognized as an inspirational touchstone of sorts, to both Ayn Rand and Friedrich von Hayek. Text includes 44 original charts by the former economic statistician of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, under Benjamin Strong. H.L. Mencken called it the most revolutionary and influential book on economics since Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations. Signed, VG+/VG.
