A beautiful 1937 1st Edition of this uncommon history of Maryland's earliest days in the 17th century, signed by Semmes on the front end paper in bold black ink. 855pp. Black cloth gilt with square tight binding and clean interior. The mildest of edge wear to boards and spine. Endpapers lightly age toned, with a hint of light foxing to outer pages. Last 60 pages or so with a light dampstain along bottom edge. Overall a handsome, desirable copy of this tough-to-find history, signed by the author.
