SIGNED, DATED AND INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR, IN GREEN INK, ON FFEP 'To Enid Hodges, Who graces Mr Wickham's office at A21 (? slightly illegible), David Chagall April 6th 1962'. Some edge wear, chipping and short closed tears to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners slightly rubbed, some slight time staining to back jacket, some slight spotting to endpapers. Not price clipped (15s), no other inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg++ copy for its age. 255pp.A novel of the post war beatnik culture of Philadelphia, by David McNeil Chagall (b.1946), son of the Lithuanian Jewish painter Marc Chagall (born Moishe Zakharovich Shagal, the book is dedicated to 'Moish', presumably his father), and Marc's mistress and muse Virginia Haggard McNeil. Very scarce signed.
